Finding gear in a canopy, checking under the bonnet or putting something away after camp should not mean holding a torch in your teeth. This compact Baja Designs dome light puts a switched light close to the job, using a 12V supply and a broad 180-degree optic. Choose clear light or one of the coloured options to suit the area you are lighting.
The small waterproof unit can be used around a cab, engine bay, wheel well or suitable storage area. The built-in switch means you can control it at the light, and the included tube mounts give you another way to position it on appropriate round mounting surfaces.
Choose clear, blue, green, amber or red. The colour selection changes the lens/light appearance; choose it around how you use the space rather than expecting a small utility light to perform as a forward driving lamp.
Connect it to a correctly fused 12V circuit and secure the wiring for the mounting position. The compact body measures 2.7 x 1.2 x 0.45in, so it is easy to find a useful position close to the job.
The housing can become hot during long periods of use. Leave it clear of heat-sensitive items and allow it to cool before handling. That is particularly worth remembering in a tightly packed canopy or storage area.
