There is plenty to enjoy in a Touareg or Cayenne away from smooth roads. This 8 mm Almont guard protects the radiators, steering, engine and front differential, giving the expensive components underneath a substantial duralumin barrier against rough-ground contact. Its application differs between the two vehicles, including a body-lift requirement on the Cayenne.

You can put the car's ability to use on rough access roads and rocky tracks with more peace of mind about its front underside. The 8 mm HeavyDuty plate weighs 20 kg. For the Touareg it covers the 7P engine range; the Cayenne application is specifically for a 92A with a body lift.
The material is a large part of what makes Almont protection worth considering. Certified AW5083 H111 duralumin combines high strength with less material weight than steel of the same size and thickness. A scrape will not start red rust in the alloy plate, helping it stay a worthwhile long-term addition to your vehicle. Mud and road salt should still be washed off, including from the separate steel brackets and fixings.

Pressure wash the protection at least once a year, or two or three times a year if you regularly drive in mud or road salt. Check bolt tightness annually and follow the fitting instructions when refitting a plate after maintenance.

The duralumin plate will not form red rust when scratched. Wash off mud and road salt to help prevent other corrosion and to look after the separate steel brackets and fixings.
Almont provides three years of cover against cracking of the plate. Dents, deformation and damage to the vehicle are excluded.
