Give your Alaskan more protection beyond the tarmac
Whether your Alaskan is working on rough ground or heading out for a weekend away, protecting the steering and radiators makes good sense. This Almont front guard adds a substantial duralumin barrier underneath, with 6 mm SportDuty and 8 mm HeavyDuty versions for the 2017-onwards application.
Choose lighter protection or the thicker HeavyDuty plate
The 6 mm PDN30A6-AL plate weighs 8.5 kg and suits lighter off-road use. For a heavier truck or more demanding rocky travel, we would choose the 8 mm PDN30A8-AL at 11.5 kg. Both use certified AW5083 H111 duralumin.
Why we recommend Almont
This is certified AW5083 H111 duralumin: a high-strength aluminium alloy that keeps material weight below steel of the same size and thickness. You get a substantial barrier beneath the vehicle, and a scratch in the plate does not turn into red rust. It is still worth keeping the alloy and the separate steel mounting hardware clean, especially after winter salt or muddy trips.
Almont has specialised in vehicle protection since 1992, with input from vehicle preparers involved in the Dakar Rally and other rally-raid events. Its protection is designed and manufactured in Spain. You are choosing specialist underbody protection for the parts of your vehicle that have to face the rough ground first.

Looking after your protection
Pressure wash the protection at least once a year, or two or three times a year if you regularly drive in mud or road salt. Check bolt tightness annually and follow the fitting instructions when refitting a plate after maintenance.
Frequently asked questions
What do the two option codes mean?
PDN30A6 is the 6 mm choice, supplied under SKU PDN30A6-AL; PDN30A8 is the 8 mm choice, supplied under SKU PDN30A8-AL.
Which would you recommend for demanding use?
The 8 mm HeavyDuty plate for a heavier truck or repeated rocky travel. The 6 mm SportDuty plate keeps the guard weight lower for lighter use.
What is included?
The protection plate, matching steel mounting supports, pre-installed fixings, certificate and instruction manual, and Almont sticker.
Will the plate rust if I scrape it?
The duralumin plate will not form red rust when scratched. Wash off mud and road salt to help prevent other corrosion and to look after the separate steel brackets and fixings.
What does the warranty cover?
Almont provides three years of cover against cracking of the plate. Dents, deformation and damage to the vehicle are excluded.
