A Defender is a vehicle you want to use, and a proper front guard makes rougher roads easier to enjoy. This Almont plate protects the engine, cooling, steering, front differential and air-conditioning area on the listed 2020-onwards 90 and 110 applications, using 6 mm certified duralumin.

The guard covers several important systems together rather than the engine alone. It weighs 13.5 kg and is made for the stated 90 and 110 bodies. It is also the required mounting partner for the separate gearbox and transfer guard, so it is the right place to start if you want that centre protection later.
This is certified AW5083 H111 duralumin: a high-strength aluminium alloy that keeps material weight below steel of the same size and thickness. You get a substantial barrier beneath the vehicle, and a scratch in the plate does not turn into red rust. It is still worth keeping the alloy and the separate steel mounting hardware clean, especially after winter salt or muddy trips.

Pressure wash the protection at least once a year, or two or three times a year if you regularly drive in mud or road salt. Check bolt tightness annually and follow the fitting instructions when refitting a plate after maintenance.

The duralumin plate will not form red rust when scratched. Wash off mud and road salt to help prevent other corrosion and to look after the separate steel brackets and fixings.
Almont provides three years of cover against cracking of the plate. Dents, deformation and damage to the vehicle are excluded.
