The plate weighs 12.5 kg and protects the central transmission area. It is a reassuring addition for rutted tracks and rocky crossings, where protecting expensive mechanical components matters as much as getting through the obstacle.
The material is a large part of what makes Almont protection worth considering. Certified AW5083 H111 duralumin combines high strength with less material weight than steel of the same size and thickness. A scrape will not start red rust in the alloy plate, helping it stay a worthwhile long-term addition to your vehicle. Mud and road salt should still be washed off, including from the separate steel brackets and fixings.

Fit the required Bronco Wildtrak and Badlands front guard with this transmission plate. The separate rear shock guards protect the original rear FOX shocks and their compression/extension sensors on the matching Wildtrak/Badlands application. Fitting the optional rear shock guards requires TIG spot-welding of their mounting supports to the suspension link.
Pressure wash the protection at least once a year, or two or three times a year if you regularly drive in mud or road salt. Check bolt tightness annually and follow the fitting instructions when refitting a plate after maintenance.

The duralumin plate will not form red rust when scratched. Wash off mud and road salt to help prevent other corrosion and to look after the separate steel brackets and fixings.
