What Makes Us Unique
Unlike a lot of competitors, we lead with transparency. We don’t make unrealistic horsepower promises, but we will deliver safe, powerful, and reliable tuning services specifically tailored to your vehicle's health and your driving needs.
While every vehicle is different and without a dyno test we can’t promise exact figures, but we will aim for 430+ BHP for a stock Ranger Raptor V6.
The Two Ways We Unlock 430+ BHP: Local Dyno or Global Remote Tuning
Choosing Hoonies Adrenaline means you aren't just buying a file; you’re buying into a process and joining a dedicated community. We have an active network of Raptor owners with daily engagement—all of whom have been tuned by us and are ready to share advice, answer questions, and talk shop.
Depending on where you are in the world, we offer two distinct ways to transform your Raptor:
1. In-House Hub Dyno Tuning
If you can get your truck to our workshop, this is the gold standard. You leave your Raptor with us for half a day, giving our team the time needed to get it bolted onto our Hub Dynos.
- Precision Control: Unlike traditional roller dynos, hub dynos eliminate wheel slip, allowing us to tune your engine and transmission with absolute precision.
- Verified Figures: This is the only way to get 100% accurate, "no-guesswork" BHP and torque figures for your specific vehicle.
- Transmission Optimisation: We don’t just tune the engine; we calibrate the 10-speed gearbox to ensure your shift points are as aggressive or smooth as you need them.

2. Fully Remote Tuning (Global)
Distance is no longer a barrier to elite performance. If you can’t make it to our shop, we bring the shop to you.
- The Device: We ship a specialised tuning interface directly to your door. This tool allows you to "talk" to your truck’s ECU.
- Data-Driven Revisions: This isn't a one-click download. You will record real-world data logs while driving, which you send back to our engineers.
- Continuous Refinement: We analyse those logs and send back revised tuning files. This process continues through several revisions until we are satisfied that we’ve achieved the best possible performance and safety for your specific environment and fuel quality.

Reversible Performance: Tuning and Your Vehicle’s Warranty
The most common question we get is Does the tune affect my warranty?.
As with any tune or ecu swap, or any modification in fact, it could affect warranty, anyone saying otherwise, is not telling the full truth.
That being said, as part of our tune, in person or remote, you are given a device. This device allows you to swap between map/tune versions. When we start the process, we pull your existing build/file and that is saved on your account for whenever you may need to go back to Stock.
FAQ - Tuning your Ford Ranger Raptor V6
What Is the Stock Output of the 3.0L Twin-Turbo V6?
“What is the stock output of the 3.0 L twin-turbo V6 in the Ranger Raptor?”
The factory specification for the 3.0 L twin-turbo V6 in the Ranger Raptor is approximately 292 hp (≈215 kW) and 491 Nm of torque in many markets. Actual output may differ depending on region, emissions equipment and local calibration — so it’s wise to verify your exact model’s documentation.
What Realistic Power Gains Can I Expect From Tuning?
“What kind of power and torque improvements are realistic when tuning the 3.0 L twin-turbo V6?”
Gains depend on vehicle condition, fuel quality and supporting mods. A stock Raptor with the below criteria met, we would expect to see between 400-450 BHP.
- Good running order: An engine and transmission that's been looked after with regular service intervals met.
- Clean engine: yes a dirty engine (especially airboxes) will increase temperatures and reduce our tuning capability.
- An engine that's ran in (+1500 miles minimum).
- Running good quality 99 octane fuel from Esso or Tesco, not all advertised 99 octane is actually 99 octane. Lukos Engineering has done a fantastic blog post on this topic that you can read here.
- Minimum upgrades: at a minimum we recommend you upgrade your spark plugs to help reduce any engine knock, these can be bought from us direct
What Hardware Modifications Should I Do Before or Along With the Tune?
“Is it enough just to flash the ECU, or should I upgrade intake, intercooler, exhaust etc first?”
While a software-only tune can offer solid improvements, supporting hardware significantly enhances performance and durability. Typical upgrades include:
- Upgraded intercooler (for improved cooling under load)
- High-flow air intake / filter system
- Exhaust upgrades (reduced restriction)
- Enhanced cooling (radiator, transmission cooler) — especially if towing or off-roading
- Quality spark plugs and ignition system upgrades
However, any physical performance modifications will likely require a re tune to get the best possible benefits. We offer re-tuning services for this scenario. Please get in touch to find out more.
Will Tuning Affect My Vehicle’s Warranty or Legal Compliance?
“Does an ECU remap void the warranty? What should I check in my region?”
You can flash back to the exact build you started with, there is no way for the dealership to know you'd have swapped it. It takes about 2 minutes and we will provide a guide on how to do so. This would be useful for services. All would show up to the dealer after you have flashed back to stock is a "lost connection" message, this also happens if you disconnect the battery .
Which Tuning Methods Are Available and Which Is Best for Me?
“ECU remap vs tuning box vs module — what are the pros and cons for my Ranger Raptor V6?”
Here are common methods:
- ECU Replacement: It's possible to buy a Raptor ECU from countries with laxer emissions to gain increased BHP. This is often advertised at a set BHP. If you were to put your vehicle on a dyno with this ECU it's very unlikely to come close to the advertised BHP. Tunes are meant to be bespoke to each vehicle and not a plug and play solution.
- Plug-and-play tuning box/module: Interfaces with sensors or wiring — easier install but far more limited in tuning range. Expect very marginal performance increases.
- ECU & Transmision Tuning: This is the only method that offers a true performance transformation. We don't just trick sensors; we rewrite the engine and gearbox software. By tuning the Transmission alongside the ECU, we ensure the 10-speed gearbox knows exactly how to handle the new torque levels. This results in smoother shifts, better cooling management, and a massive, safe jump to 430+ BHP that feels like it came straight from the factory.
Is There a Difference Between Regions/Models in Tuning Potential?
“Do the European / US / Australian versions of the Ranger Raptor V6 differ in how much you can tune them?”
Yes — various markets have different emissions equipment, ECU calibrations, fuel quality and legal constraints. Always verify your exact VIN, region specification and any restrictions before proceeding with modifications.
What Risks and Reliability Issues Should I Watch Out For When Tuning?
“What are the weak points and supporting mod requirements when increasing power?”
When increasing engine output you also increase stress on the drivetrain, cooling and support systems. Risks include overheating, accelerated wear, lost warranty/insurance cover and OEM parts reaching their limits. A professional tune will include safeguards such as knock monitoring, correct fuelling and cooling upgrades.
How Does Tuning Affect Towing, Off-Road Performance, and Durability?
“I use my Ranger Raptor for heavy loads/off-road — how should the tune differ and what mods do I need?”
For towing/off-road use, higher heat and load are expected. Ensure the tune has a map for heavy duty use, support cooling upgrades such as transmission cooler, radiator, and quality fluids. In some cases, compromise peak power for longevity and performance under load.
What Questions Should I Ask a Tuning Company Before Committing?
“Which questions should I ask to ensure I get the right tuning solution for my vehicle?”
Some good questions to ask include:
- “Can you show before + after dyno graphs on this same model?”
- “Does the tune support map switching (daily / sport / towing)?”
- “What hardware was fitted on the test vehicle, and what do you recommend for mine?”
- “Will you retune if I add upgrades later?”
- “What’s the effect on warranty / emissions in my region?”
- “What protections are built-in (knock control, diagnostics, cooling)?”
What About Resale Value and Future-Proofing My Investment?
“How does a tune affect resale? If I plan future upgrades, how should I plan the tune?”
A tuned vehicle can impact resale both positively and negatively:
- Positive: Buyers seeking performance may pay more if the vehicle is well documented and maintained.
- Negative: Some buyers or dealers view modifications as riskier, potentially reducing value.
To optimise resale: maintain full documentation (what tune, who performed it, when), consider a reversible tune like what we offer, and keep servicing records up to date.
