Bring out your Mustang's V8 character
Start your Mustang exhaust upgrade at the cylinder heads. These Kooks long tube headers let you build a complete exhaust around your 5.0-litre Coyote, with three primary sizes to suit your engine. The mandrel-bent 304 stainless steel tubing, 3/8" laser-cut flanges and 3" collectors give you a solid foundation for the V8 sound and character you enjoy. Add the matching front connections, then choose how to join the rear exhaust you want to keep or replace.

Choose the right primary size
Choose from 1-3/4", 1-7/8" or 2" primary tubes, each feeding a 3" collector. The primary is the individual tube leaving the cylinder head; the collector brings those tubes together. A bigger primary is not automatically better. Engine output, induction and the rev range you actually use matter more than choosing the largest number. We can help you match the size to your current engine and the upgrades you have planned.
Choose the connections for your exhaust
Start with the matching Mustang front connection pipes, available in Competition Only, GREEN and H.O. GREEN versions. We also offer Performance catted connections for naturally aspirated builds, and ULTRA-GREEN connections. Choose the catalyst specification for your engine and intended use. To keep the factory GT rear exhaust, add the 11513000-2 OEM adapter pair. If you want to replace the crossover section too, the 11513700 ULTRA X-pipe connects the Kooks headers and front pipes to the OEM rear exhaust and includes its mid-pipe adapters and clamps. The X-pipe is an alternative rear connection route, so choose it or the separate OEM adapter pair to suit your exhaust. The front connection pipes do not include clamps.
Fitting and setup
Gaskets, header bolts and ball-and-socket hardware are included. The oxygen-sensor extensions differ by model year: one extension for 2015-2017 cars and two for 2018 onwards. Professional installation is recommended, with attention to sensor routing, clearance and a fastener check after the first heat cycle.

Frequently asked questions
Will these join my factory exhaust on their own?
They need the matching Kooks front connection pipes. To retain the factory rear exhaust, add the correct OEM adapters; a matching Kooks X-pipe or H-pipe system gives you another route for a fuller exhaust upgrade.
Which size should I choose?
Choose for your engine specification and intended use. A standard or lightly modified engine does not automatically benefit from the largest primary. Tell us about the engine, any supercharger or turbo setup and how you use the car, and we can help you choose.
Do I need to buy O2 extensions separately?
The appropriate extensions are included: one for 2015-2017 applications and two for 2018 onwards. Route them clear of the exhaust during fitting.
Can I use these on public roads?
These three header options are for competition, off-road and track use only. They are not for use on public roads, and Kooks requires a competition-use waiver.
