A comfortable place to sleep, with more room to enjoy camp
Park up, open the tent and make yourself at home. The ARB Simpson III gives two people an elevated sleeping area, with an included mattress, ladder and annex to make camp more comfortable from the first trip. The annex adds useful sheltered space below, while the tent keeps your bed above the ground and leaves the vehicle interior available for your equipment.

A bed waiting above your vehicle
The tent unfolds into a 1400 x 2400 mm sleeping area with 1300 mm of open height. That gives two people a defined place to sleep without using the seats or rebuilding a bed inside the vehicle each night. Bedding can stay in the folded tent where there is enough space to close it properly; bulky pillows may need to travel separately.
More space for the rest of camp
The included annex is useful for getting changed, keeping boots and equipment out of the sleeping area, or creating a more private space beside the vehicle. It packs into its own storage bag. Choose where the tent opens so the ladder and annex suit the way you want to use the campsite and access the vehicle.
Fresh air without inviting the insects in
Ripstop polycotton tent fabric, a separate flysheet and insect screens help you enjoy the surroundings while keeping the sleeping area enclosed. Open the screened panels for airflow and a view, or close the outer fabric for more privacy. Ventilation also helps manage the moisture that people bring into an enclosed sleeping space.
Small details you appreciate every day
Two elevated shoe pockets keep footwear close without putting muddy soles on the mattress. Internal storage gives keys and other small items a proper place, while the laminated travel cover protects the packed tent between campsites. The ladder acts as the opening lever, and internal bungees help draw the fabric in when you fold the tent away.
Choose the opening direction before fitting
Side opening and rear opening give you different campsite layouts. Rear opening can interfere with a high-rising tailgate, and ARB's fitting guide requires trimming the mounting extrusions for that orientation. A side-opening installation can leave rear access clearer. The mounting arrangement, ladder reach and annex height must suit the vehicle.
Use a roof and rack system rated for the complete travelling load, including the tent, mounting parts and any equipment above it. Occupied camping loads also need to be within the support system's limits. The ladder must be positioned correctly to support the opened tent.
Looking after the tent
Let the fabric and annex dry before longer-term storage. If you have to pack them wet to leave a campsite, reopen them to dry as soon as practical. Clear loose grit from the mattress area and inspect the cover, ladder and fixings regularly so the tent is ready for the next weekend away.

Frequently asked questions
Is the annex included?
Yes. The Simpson III package includes the annex and its storage bag, giving you a separate space for changing and keeping equipment below the tent.
Can I leave bedding inside when packing away?
Bedding can stay where it fits without forcing the tent closed. Bulky pillows may need removing so the fabric and travel cover close properly.
Should it open over the side or the rear?
Choose around access to the vehicle and the space you want at camp. Rear opening can restrict a rising tailgate and requires the mounting-rail preparation described in the fitting guide.
Does it include a mattress and ladder?
Yes. Both are supplied, so the main sleeping and access equipment is part of the package.
What if I have to pack the tent away wet?
Reopen the tent and annex to dry as soon as practical. Dry storage helps prevent moisture remaining in the folded fabric.
