A good night at camp is about more than having somewhere to lie down. The ARB Intrepid gives you room to sit up, change clothes and relax when the weather keeps you inside. Its bi-fold roof opens into a spacious sleeping area, then packs down to an 18 cm shell for the drive home.
SKU: XCTR802610_PS
The bi-fold roof creates 138 cm of internal headroom, so more of the tent feels usable once you are inside. You can sleep at either end to suit the surroundings, sit up over breakfast or retreat from the rain without spending the evening pressed into the narrow end of a conventional wedge-shaped tent.
The bi-fold roof provides 36% more internal living space than traditional clamshell tents. You can make use of that room while changing, reading or waiting for the rain to pass, as well as when you turn in for the night.
The 50 mm mattress combines a softer upper layer with a firmer supporting layer and insulation beneath. A separate 15 mm condensation mat encourages airflow under the mattress, while the quilted, water-resistant protector adds a softer surface. The mattress and mat are included, so you're ready to camp in comfort from the start.
Three-sided access helps you work around different campsites and vehicle layouts. Mesh and blackout layers let you balance ventilation with privacy, while the clear rear window keeps the view when you close the opening against the weather. Two roof vents help move humid air out, and the stargazing windows have blackout covers for the mornings when you would rather sleep in.
Dimmable white and amber LED lighting lets you read or settle down with a gentler light. Zipped side pockets keep small essentials close by, and dedicated fabric pockets keep open door panels out of your way. The included rear awning gives some shelter at the entrance; the telescopic ladder has wide, angled steps for more comfortable access.
Gas struts assist the roof, and the linked closing arrangement draws the sides inward as you lower it. The honeycomb aluminium shell provides a rigid outer structure without a tall packed profile. Check your complete vehicle height before using garages or height barriers, and dry the fabric thoroughly after a wet pack-up before leaving the tent stored.
The tent comes with its mattress, condensation mat, mattress protector, telescopic ladder, rear awning and rods, internal lighting and mounting kit. The lighting needs a USB-A power source; a power bank is separate. Roof storage accessories, the internal organiser and the BASE Rack quick-release clamp kit are optional extras.
Use a roof rack or bars approved for a rooftop tent and for your vehicle. The driving load includes the tent, mounts and anything carried inside; parked load limits must also accommodate the people using it. The included mounting hardware does not make every roof or rack suitable.
