ARB REDARC S/Start Isolator 200A 12V controls or connects part of the vehicle's auxiliary electrical system for charging and accessory power. A planned power-management component is safer and easier to service than adding unfused accessory wiring directly to the battery. The REDARC Smart Start- SBI212 is a battery isolator used as a solenoid priority system to protect that start battery from excessive discharge while the auxiliary battery is supplying non-essential loads. The SBI212 provides 12 volt DC incorporating 200A of continuous ratings, the battery isolator is designed for extremely heavy-duty operations.
Start with the maximum current, cable length and battery chemistry. Locate protection close to the supply, keep high-current cables away from heat and moving parts, and leave access to fuses and connectors. Charging components must also suit smart-alternator behaviour where relevant.
Confirm voltage, current rating, connector type and compatibility with the battery and charging system. Check whether cable, fuses, isolators, displays or mounting hardware are included. Use competent installation for high-current circuits.
