By containing heat at the turbo, it helps maintain higher exhaust gas temperatures inside the turbine, which can support faster spool and more consistent boost. The result is a cooler engine bay, reduced risk of heat soak to nearby wiring and hoses, and improved overall thermal management for your Silverado HD.

Where This Turbo Blanket Excels

The LML 6.6L Chevrolet Silverado HD Turbo Blanket is particularly useful for:

Heavy-duty towing and hauling where sustained turbo operation generates high heat

Off-road builds exposed to slow-speed, high-load conditions

Performance upgrades where underbonnet temperatures can impact reliability

Owners seeking to protect wiring, hoses, and sensitive engine bay components from radiant heat

Key Benefits for Chevrolet Silverado HD Owners

Designed specifically for the LML 6.6L Duramax turbocharger

Helps reduce engine bay temperatures for improved reliability

Supports turbo efficiency by retaining heat within the turbine housing

Available in Titanium, Carbon Fibre, and Inside Out finishes for tailored appearance and performance

Removable design allows for routine turbo maintenance without damaging the blanket

Signature Funk Motorsport 4-layer construction for enhanced thermal protection

Construction and Material Details

Funk Motorsport's turbo blanket features a proprietary 4-layer construction, offering up to three times more thermal protection than many standard turbo jackets. Motorsport LLY 6.6L Chevrolet Silverado HD Turbo Blanket is purpose-built for 2004.5–2006 Duramax LLY-equipped Silverado HD trucks. Designed to address the unique heat management challenges of high-output turbo diesels, this advanced turbo blanket helps protect your engine bay from excessive radiant heat while supporting turbocharger efficiency and long-term reliability.

How This Turbo Blanket Improves Your Silverado's Performance

Turbochargers generate extreme heat, especially under load or when towing. Without proper insulation, this heat can soak into wiring, hoses, and surrounding components, leading to premature wear and reduced reliability. The Funk Motorsport turbo blanket wraps the turbine housing, trapping heat inside the turbo and minimising transfer to the engine bay. This helps maintain optimal turbo spool, supports consistent performance, and reduces the risk of heat-related failures.

Application Scenarios: Who Should Consider This Upgrade?

This turbo blanket is ideal for:

Owners of 2004.5–2006 Chevrolet Silverado HD trucks with the LLY 6.6L Duramax engine

Drivers who tow heavy loads, haul frequently, or operate in hot climates

Performance enthusiasts with tuned or modified Duramax engines

Anyone seeking to protect sensitive engine bay components from heat exposure

If you rely on your Silverado HD for demanding work or performance, this turbo blanket delivers practical, proven heat management benefits.

Key Benefits of the Funk Motorsport Chevrolet Turbo Blanket

Engineered specifically for the LLY 6.6L Duramax turbo (2004.5–2006)

Signature 4-layer construction for robust thermal insulation

Reduces under-bonnet heat soak and protects wiring, hoses, and plastics

Supports improved turbo response and reliability under heavy use

Removable design allows for routine turbo maintenance

Available in Titanium, Carbon Fibre, and Inside Out finishes to suit your build

Finish Options: Titanium, Carbon Fibre, and Inside Out

Choose from three finishes to match your build and environment:

Titanium: Classic, durable look with excellent heat resistance

Carbon Fibre: Distinctive appearance with the same core thermal performance

Inside Out: Unique reversed construction for those who prefer a different aesthetic or installation preference

All finishes deliver the same high level of thermal protection; selection is based on your visual preference and installation needs.

Installation and Maintenance Guidance

This turbo blanket is tailored for the LLY 6.6L Duramax turbo found in 2004.5–2006 Silverado HDs, ensuring a secure and precise fit.
